Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate for Northampton North Andrew Simpson has urged support for the victims of an earthquake in Haiti, which is feared to have caused a major humanitarian disaster.
"With there has been such a major natural disaster taking place in one of the world's poorest countries - where possibly thousands of people have died and tens of thousands have been made homeless - it is important that the international community pulls together to prevent further loss of life," said Andrew Simpson.
"Our thoughts and prayers must go out to the families of those who have been affected by this disaster," Andrew continued, "and I would urge all those who can to lend their support to charities involved in the relief effort."
