Chair of Leicester Lib Dems reacts to MP's death

Jim Marshall was a respected Member of Parliament and the Leicester City Liberal Democrat Party would like to extend its deepest condolences to his family. Although a Labour MP he campaigned strongly against many of his Party's policies including the war in Iraq and more recently the spate of post office closures across Leicester. This integrity attracted the respect of politicians from other political parties.

Cllr Parmjit Singh Gill, Chair of the Leicester City Liberal Democrat Party said,

"It was shocking and sad to hear that Jim had passed away so suddenly and without warning, and his death marks the passing away of a whole political era. Our thoughts are with his family at this time."
