Pies and Passion - Why Community Politics Matters

Thursday 5th October 2017 at 7pm.

The Grapes Inn, Belper DE56 1GF

Members and their guests are welcome to this Thursday evening social evening. The special guest will be Michael Meadowcroft, who has a long history of fighting for liberal principles. Those principles have never been more important than in the era of Trump, and are just as applicable locally as in national politics. Michael is a leading liberal thinker, former Leeds City Councillor and MP, and experienced international elections observer

The cost is £5, which will include a choice of pie dinner. Pay on the night, but please do confirm your attendance in advance. We will start eating at 7pm. Michael will speak at around 7.45pm.

The Grapes pub is on High Street, which is the A609 out of Belper, half way up the hill. There is a car park. If that is full there is normally parking on High Street outside the pub.

Please email john.shoe22@gmail.com (or call 07887 380334) before 30th September if you are coming and indicate your choice of pie - 'Meat and Potato' or 'Vegetable'.

Note that while there is a choice of pies, the only type of passion available will be political!
