Erewash History Social: Morley Walk – Thursday 14 June

June 14, 2018 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Three Horseshoes on the Main Road DE7 6DF

Enjoy some Liberal Net-Walking!

Come and join the Erewash Liberal Democrats for an evening walk around the village of Morley. Morley is steeped in history - it was the administrative centre of South East Derbyshire in Saxon times, as well as having Roman, and pre-Roman roads passing through. Our walk will take us to the "Morley Mound", the beautiful Morley church (which will be open for us), and to the attractive almshouses, and there will be a commentary as we go.

The walk will start at 7.00 pm prompt from the Three Horseshoes on the Main Road (DE7 6DF), and we will be back there for 9.00 pm, when the social side of the event will continue for those who want it. The pub serves food from 6.00 pm.

The total distance is no more than 2 miles. We will be going along footpaths for much of the walk, so sensible footwear is required - there are a couple of stiles.

The leader will be Robert Mee, who as well as being the Chair of the local party is also a professional local historian.

All proceeds from the evening will go to party funds. The cost is £5.00 per person (£3.00 for children aged 6 to 16) if booked in advance, or £7.00 on the night. There is a limit to the number of places, so please book early to avoid disappointment. And please bring your family and friends along - membership of the party is not required.

To book your place, simply email chair@erewashlibdems.org.uk, and we'll let you know how to pay.
